Fun Fact Friday!

Here are some fun facts for your Friday!
Think of the number 7.5 billion.. Its a huge number and sort of hard to wrap your head around how vast it is. Well this number is equivalent to how many people exist in the world. Now, imagine a hand full of soil. More organisms exist in this small amount of soil than the number of people that exist in the world.
There are 10-50 billion types of organisms including aerobic bacteria, fungal cells, arthropods, algae, protozoa, and nematodes. It’s also interesting to note that the majority of the microscopic species mentioned above have yet to be classified which means that soil scientists don’t know exactly what they are or what they do. This is referred to as the life of "inner space", the vast and unknown beneath our feet, Happy Friday everyone!
